Martin Luther King, Jr. was one amazing man.
Last year my daughter’s class went to the National Civil Rights Museum in Memphis (which is located at the site of MLK’s death.) A very, very, moving place- if you haven’t been you need to go.
Bring lots of tissues.

My son had a disturbing dream the other night.
He said he was in a land like TRON, but he was green and there were green and blue people. He said it was horrible because he was friends with a blue person and they put him and his friend in jail because people of different colors weren’t allowed to be friends. They had to escape and run away and he fought for the laws to change. “It was like those dumb Crow laws in the olden days, mom.”
Sometimes you think they aren’t listening, but they always are.

I was telling my husband this weekend that I can't wait to take the kids to the Lorraine. I cried my way through it, and I was 11 the first time I went.
